The Camille McCain Memorial Scholarship was established in 2019 to honor the life of Camille McCain and to continue her legacy of generosity, perseverance and excellence. The scholarship is an annual, merit-based award that places emphasis on rewarding, ambitious, goal-oriented, driven individuals with a background of consistent civic and athletic involvement. This is a one-time award of $1000. Financial need is considered; however, all high school seniors attending Poplar Bluff Senior High School are encouraged to apply. The main goal of the scholarship committee is to assist students who aspire to attend a college or university after high school. The successful applicant will be selected in April of each year.
The scholarship is made possible by fundraisers held by the M.L.L.I.E Corporation and individual donations. The scholarship committee does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation, handicap or national/ethnic origin. Any current or former M.I.L.L.I.E board member, family member or volunteer is exempt from receiving funds. The scholarship committee encourages former recipients to volunteer in future scholarship endeavors.
